Overquality ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Playon - Find. Play. Connect. mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App and related services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Name, email address, and password when you create an account
  • Profile information such as preferred sports, general information, and location
  • Details when you create activities or events (e.g., title, description, location, date/time)

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Device information (model, operating system, language, time zone)
  • Usage data (how you interact with features, pages visited)
  • Log data and analytics via tools such as Expo and Supabase
  • Advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID) used by our advertising partners

1.3 Information from Third Parties

If you sign in or connect through third-party services (e.g., Google Sign-In), we may receive basic account information such as name, surname, email address, and profile photo from that service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Allow you to join, create, and manage sports activities and events
  • Improve, personalize, and maintain the App
  • Communicate with you (e.g., notifications, updates, support)
  • Display advertisements within the App
  • Enforce our Terms of Use and comply with legal obligations

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data only with:

  • Service providers that support app operation (e.g., Supabase for backend services, Expo for notifications)
  • Legal authorities, if required by law
  • Advertising partners (e.g., Google AdMob) for the purpose of serving advertisements. These partners may collect and process data in accordance with their own privacy policies
  • Other users, only for information you choose to make public (e.g., your profile information and activities you create or participate in)

4. Advertising

The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising service provided by Google LLC.

4.1 Data Collected by AdMob

AdMob and its advertising partners may collect and use the following information:

  • Device advertising identifiers (e.g., Google Advertising ID)
  • IP address
  • Device information (model, operating system, screen size)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
  • General location data (based on IP address)

4.2 Personalized and Non-Personalized Ads

  • If you provide consent, AdMob may use your data to display personalized advertisements based on your interests and activity.
  • If you do not provide consent, you will still see advertisements, but they will not be personalized to your interests.
  • You can manage your ad personalization preferences at any time through the consent prompt within the App or through your device settings.

4.3 Opting Out

You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

  • Adjusting your consent preferences in the App when prompted
  • Resetting or disabling your device's advertising identifier through your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads on Android)

5. Data Retention and Deletion

5.1 Active Account Data

We retain your data for as long as your account remains active.

5.2 Account Deletion Process

You may delete your account at any time through the App or by contacting us at support@playon.gr. When you delete your account, your data is processed as follows:

Immediately and Permanently Deleted:

  • Authentication credentials (login information)
  • Push notification tokens
  • Saved location preferences
  • Sports preferences
  • Personal notifications received
  • Activity invitations received

Anonymized (Personal Information Removed):

Your profile record is retained, but all personally identifiable information is permanently removed:

  • Name, email, phone number, date of birth, gender, bio, profile picture, and activity images
  • Your username is replaced with "deleted*user*[random_code]"
  • Your account is marked as inactive and deleted
  • You will no longer appear in search results or user listings

Retained for System Integrity:

To preserve functionality for other users and ensure platform safety, we retain (in anonymized form):

  • Past participation in activities (displayed as a deleted user)
  • Activities you created (transferred to an anonymized profile)
  • Safety and moderation reports (to protect the community)
  • Historical activity requests (for other users’ records)

This ensures that activity history remains visible to other users while all personal data is fully removed. Deleted user profiles cannot be recovered or reactivated.

5.3 Managing Personal Data

You may manage your personal data at any time through the App:

  • Profile picture: Go to your profile and select "Edit Profile" from the settings. You may remove or replace your current photo.
  • Personal information: From "Edit Profile," you may update your name, gender, and date of birth. You may also manage optional information such as weight and height.

6. Data Security

  • We use encryption and secure connections (HTTPS) to protect your data.
  • However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers and partners (such as Supabase, Google AdMob, and Expo) may process your data on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When your data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or the service provider's participation in recognized data protection frameworks.

8. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Greek law, you have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Request restriction or object to processing of your data
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured, commonly used format)
  • Lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA / ΑΠΔΠΧ) at www.dpa.gr if you believe your data rights have been violated

9. Children's Privacy

  • The Playon App is intended exclusively for users aged 18 years and older, due to user interactions and potential in-person meetings.
  • Use of the App by individuals under the age of 18 is strictly prohibited.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under 18.
  • If we become aware that a minor has created an account or provided personal data, such data will be deleted immediately and the account will be permanently disabled.
  • If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
  • Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
  • We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
